Published by Sneakwood Editions (A0.1266223). Vivaldi â Sinfonia (first Allegro) for strings and continuo from LâOlimpiade RV 725. Preface + Score + Parts (PDF) Preface and Notes Score Parts (Violin I, Violin II, Viola and Basso) Vivaldi â Sinfonia for strings and continuo from LâOlimpiade RV 725L´Olimpiade. Dramma per Musica, is an opera in three acts based on a libretto by Pietro Metastasio composed by Vivaldi and premiered at the Teatro SantâAngelo on February 17, 1734, during the carnival. There is an earlier version based on the same libretto but written by Antonio Caldara in 1733. There are more than 50 later versions written by various authors, including Pergolesi (1735).Vivaldiâs opera begins with a Sinfonia for strings (Allegro) followed by two instrumental movements: Andante in cut time, and Allegro in 3/8 time. This edition includes just the first Allegro. There is an autograph copy in score format contained in the manuscript I-Tn, Foà 39, Bl. 1-140. The present edition is based on this manuscript. It is very interesting to mention that there is a violin concerto based on this same symphony (or perhaps the thematic transfer was from the concerto to the symphony). It is the violin concerto in C major rv 177.There are several sources for this concerto: Vivaldiâs autograph contained in the manuscript I-Tn, Foà 31, Bl. 14-25, in score format, and two sources in Dresden, the manuscript D-Dl, Mus. 2389-O-83 (score) and D-Dl, Mus. 2389-O-83a.The concerto includes some changes from the Sinfonia. Although these are different works, the connection between the two pieces seems obvious and the annotations that we find in the violin concerto could complement the information that appears in the Sinfonia. For this reason, it is interesting to mention these changes in this edition.

String Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q49929 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn. This edition: set of parts. Eulenburg Orchestral Series. Downloadable, Set of parts. Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital #Q49929. Published by Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital (S9.Q49929). Key: F major. The Allgemeine Musikalische Zeitung, Leipzig 1827, reports that Mendelssohn, between the ages of 12-14, and under the guidance of his teacher Carl Friedrich Zelter, composed 'symphonies for strings alone in the style of C. P. E. Bach, which were then performed in the house of his highly refined and cultivated parents.' These remarkably fresh and precociously accomplished works were presented during Sunday musicales held at the Mendelssohn family residence and performed by members of the Berlin Court Orchestra under the direction of the composer himself. The instrumental parts are based on the recently-published Eulenburg study scores of the 12 Sinfonias for strings, newly-edited by Boris von Haken from the extant autograph MSS in the collection of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbestiz.

String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1183534 Composed by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de St. Georges. Arranged by Robert Debbaut. Classical,Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,World. 28 pages. ROBERT DEBBAUT #783207. Published by ROBERT DEBBAUT (A0.1183534). How is it that one can be born a slave in French colonial Guadeloupe and rise to be among Parisâ musical giants, to become a colonel in the French Army as well as the frequent dinner guest of princes and potentates? The story of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, is surely an interesting one, even the stuff of which movies are made.Joseph Bologneâs father, Georges Bologne de Saint-Georges was a French planter. Saint-Georges was the name of his plantation. He impregnated Anne, the Senegalese slave of his wife, who bore him a son in 1745. Uncharacteristic of many of these sort of relationships he acknowledged the child was his and gave him his family name. When he was seven Bologneâs father took him to Paris for his education, enrolling him in a boarding school. Two years later he and the childâs mother returned to France and set up housekeeping as a family in Parisâ Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. At age thirteen Josephâs father enrolled him in the Royal Technical Academy of Fencing and Swordsmanship. He quickly became the finest swordsman in the academy, perhaps in all of Paris. Upon graduation he was made an Officer of the Kingâs Bodyguard and a chevalier (an honorary knighthood). He went on to serve tours of duty in the French Army during the Seven Years War (1756-1763) and later after the French Revolution, where he was Colonel and commander of an all-Black regiment of the Revolutionary Army. All this in spite of the fact that French law forbade him, a man of African heritage, to become a citizen, to retain his fatherâs royal title of âGentleman of the Kingâs Chamber,â or to marry outside his class. There is limited information about Bologneâs musical training, but he was obviously so well-skilled that Italian violinist-composer Antonio Lolli (1725-1802) wrote two violin concertos for him and French composer François-Joseph Gossec (1734-1829) dedicated his set of String Trios, Op. 9 to Bologne. Lolli may have worked with him on violin technique and Gossec composition, but this may be apocryphal. Bologne played in Gossecâs orchestra, and was later both leader and conductor of the group. As a composer Joseph Bologne was quite prolific, composing six operas, fourteen violin concertos, four symphonies concertantes, and numerous chamber works and songs. His Six String Quartets, Op. 1, Nos. 1-6 date from 1770-1771 and were published by the Paris publishing house of Jean-Georges Sieber (1738-1822) in 1773 (There are a total of 18 quartets: Six Quartets âau goût du jourâ [up-to-date] from 1779 and the Opus 14 set of six which date from 1785). The Opus 1 quartets are dedicated to Anne Louis Alexandre de Montmorency (1724-1812), 7th Prince of Robeck (Robecq) and Grand Duke of Spain. The Opus 1 quartets all display a similarity to the Italian opera overtures from earlier in the Eighteenth Century (often called âsinfoniaâ) in that they have an overall âA-B-Aâ form with the âAâ sections being robust allegros and all âBâ sections marked ârondo.â As such, in arranging them for string orchestra it seemed quite natural to rename them âovertures.â Certain liberties were taken by the arranger in order to maintain the integrity of the classic Rondo formula. All six have been arranged in this manner for string orchestra. They vary in length from twelve to almost twenty minutes. If you wish to obtain parts, write to debbaut@gmail.com and pay $42 via venmo or $40 via personal check and they will be sent to you in pdf format.

Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746890). Handel's Arrival from the Queen of Sheba come from Solomon (HWV 67), an oratorio by George Frideric Handel; arranged for Clarinet Quintet, plus extra parts if you need them! The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, sinfonia for two oboes and strings by George Frideric Handel that premiered in London on March 17, 1749, as the first scene of Act III in the oratorio Solomon. One of the last of Handelâs many oratorios, Solomon is rarely performed in its entirety, but Handelâs bright and lively The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba interlude is a widely appreciated processional set piece. It often was (and it continues to be) played during wedding ceremonies. A noted public performance of the piece occurred during the opening ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Its libretto is based on the biblical stories of wise king Solomon and is attributed to Newburgh Hamilton. The music was composed between May 5 and June 13, 1748 and the first performance took place in London on March 17, 1749.For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores: https://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keithterrett1 http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrett Need an anthem fast? String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.809075 Composed by Johann Friedrich Fasch. Arranged by Kim Diehnelt. Baroque,Concert,Holiday,Wedding. Score and parts. 30 pages. Kim Diehnelt #6560423. Published by Kim Diehnelt (A0.809075). Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688 â 1758) was a contemporary of J.S. Bach and Georg F. Handel and considered one of the top German composers during his time. This work has four movements (Vivace-Grave-Fuge-Presto). It was originally for strings and basso continuo; the music is well-crafted and has both a flavor of restraint and seriousness, as well as humor and joy. The Fuge movement is especially enjoyable. It is a refreshing addition to the repertoire for string quartet ensembles who perform at ceremonies, receptions, and other social events. Performance time is about 10 minutes with repeats. The final Presto can be played as a trio (violin, viola, cello). Mvt. 1 - Vivace Mvt. 2 â Grave (2:10 in MIDI recording) iMvt. 3 â Fuge (3:50 on MIDI recording) Mvt. 4 â Presto (6:46 in MIDI recording) This arrangement for string quartet was made at the request of the Hildegard String Quartet in Vermont. As professional musicians who perform for weddings and special occasions, they require high-quality arrangements that capture the full sound, color, and texture of the original work. The layout of the printed parts is designed to limited page turns and provide an ease of reading.
